Raw Vegan Fruitarain | Understanding Cravings

   If you are struggling to understand your cravings this is a great video to watch. During my twelve months so far, as a fruitarian I have to say that I hadn't realized just how addicted I was to foods. I never considered myself a food addict, but I quickly learned just how much I am. The good news is the more you resist temptations the easier it gets I promise. 

It is important to listen to our bodies, but not all cravings are telling you what you NEED to be eating, but is actually just an addiction. Learn how to tell the two apart for best results. Obviously your body is not telling you to eat pizza or anything else not good for you. If you are craving fat for example it isn't your body telling you to eat high fat dairy products or pizza, but avocados or possibly even some seeds or nuts. Or if you always crave sweets it isn't your body telling you to eat candy and sweet baked goods, but fresh, raw, and ripe sweet fruits. 

 Also many cravings that we are experiencing aren't coming from a true need, but the parasites that are within us fighting to stay alive! This is where getting your body cleaned out by staying away from bad foods, and sticking to the raw fruits will help. As you cleanse the system, depriving the parasites of their food, the parasites start to freak out and fight for their lives. This parasite die off will actually cause you cravings, and make you want to eat sugar, bread, yeast, fats, etc... Don't give in! Get the body clean, and the cravings also will disappear as the parasites also disappear from your gut. 

Here are some craving rules...

  • If you crave sweets, eat lots of fruit. Fill up on fruit at every meal.
  • If you crave salt eat more raw veggies such as celery, carrots, green leafy vegetables. Adding vegetable juice or a big salad at the end of the day will help you with those cravings for salt. You can even top it with some celery chopped up real fine. 
  • If you crave sweets after you eat a savory meal, such as a salad, then you didn't eat enough fruits throughout the day. (note it is best to eat your sweet fruits all day, and then end your day with a savory meal such as a salad)
  • Loren Lockman suggests you do fruits, berries and melons all day. And for your evening meal do a big salad of spinach, avocado, tomatoes, and possible cucumber. If you need to add salt I would do celery, or a pinch of pink salt if you really need it.
